  • 1 Mixing Bowl Large enough to hold all the ingredients
  • 1 Baking Sheet Lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup
  • 1 Oven Preheated to 350°F (175°C)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats Use old-fashioned rolled oats for best texture
  • 1 Cup Dried Cherries Chopped if large or whole for a chewy bite
  • 1/2 Cup Butter or coconut oil Softened to room temperature
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar You can use white sugar for a lighter taste
  • 1 Large Egg Room temperature
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon For warm flavor
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt Optional but enhances flavor

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine butter and brown sugar, and beat until smooth.
  • Add the egg and mix well.
  • Stir in oats, dried cherries, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • You can substitute coconut oil or dairy-free butter for a vegan version.
  • For best texture, avoid overmixing the dough and don’t flatten the cookies before baking.
